Why Study at Cal Grad?

Greetings in the name of the Blessed Trinity and welcome to our web site.

Forty one years ago California Graduate School of Theology was founded in Southern California. In 1969 this graduate school was establishing a precedent for how theological education could be done. Its program was innovative and visionary as it developed a world class faculty preparing adults for ministry and Christian academic scholarship. Then, as now, the school was designed to accommodate adults who were considering studying theology, scripture, ministry, etc., on a schedule convenient for their busy lives. No compromises were to be made in terms of academic quality or spiritual development, but new paths were created for men and women responding to God’s call on their life. For many this was just the program that God was leading them into, a program that permitted them to remain dedicated husbands or wives, as well as employed in their present job, yet working on a flexible schedule that permitted a first class theological education to occur. This remains our primary focus, making excellent theological education and ministerial training available to as many people as possible without compromising on quality of instruction or spiritual development!

Over five thousand graduates now take their place in church leadership, higher academics, politics, and counseling. California Graduate School of Theology is an approved academic degree granting institution by the state of California and it is also in the early stages of seeking candidacy with various accrediting agencies who oversee theological schools and seminaries. Our faculty includes men whose academic training was done in the most prestigious American colleges, universities, and seminaries, such as: Fuller Theological Seminary, Princeton, and Westminster. Three of our faculty hold British doctorates, one professor from Sheffield University, one from Oxford University, and another professor from University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Our hope is that as you consider God’s calling on your life, you will discover academic excellence, spiritual development, and convenience here at California Graduate School of Theology. Nearly forty years of experience and integrity sets Cal Grad apart and in a league of its own when it comes to theological education in Southern California. If you have been putting off returning to school to study Scripture, Theology, Practical Ministry, etc., because you thought it was too late, you are too old, or your life was too busy, we have a plan for you – God has a plan for you! We welcome men and women.

For more information about our program, please write, call, or email us and we will do all that we can to assist you in achieving your goals and responding to God’s calling in your life.

Sincerely yours in the name of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour,
